Brandon Vázquez continues his impressive form to begin his career with CF Monterrey. After scoring his first goal with Rayados in the midweek matchup against Querétaro FC, the Mexican-American scored a brace in the 3-1 win over Atlético de San Luis on Saturday night at Estadio BBVA.

Vázquez put Monterrey ahead with a brilliant header in the 15th minute, breaking the deadlock. After San Luis leveled the scoring, the 25-year-old took a pass from Jorge Rodríguez to score his first-half brace in the 39th minute.

After the contest, the striker spoke with Alejandra Delgadillo and reflected on the brace along with the win.

“Yes, it’s important to be winning here at home,” Vázquez told Delgadillo. “This place has to be very strong for us. We have to have the expectation of winning everything here. So, I’m very happy with the team and with the work the team is doing here. We have a great team, so I believe we’ll continue improving from here.

“We continue to grow… and I am very happy with the team. The work we have done to achieve these results. It’s not easy at all, but this team is one. As I said, it’s a great team. So the expectation is to keep winning.”

Monterrey and Vázquez will have their toughest test of the Clausura 2024 tournament when they travel to Mexico City to face the reigning champions, Club América.
