CF Monterrey goalkeeper Esteban Andrada revealed on Monday that he had an opportunity to leave the Rayados squad this winter transfer window. The Argentine noted that there was interest from Brazilian clubs.

Following a disappointing conclusion to the 2023 Apertura tournament, Andrada emerged as the lone positive highlight with his impressive Liguilla performance during the tie against Atletico San Luis. Amidst speculations surrounding the future of various players, there was never any uncertainty about his.

“Truthfully, I had interest from Brazil, two teams, but well, they reached out to my representative, and my representative communicated it to me,” Andrada told reporters (h/t ABC Deportes). “I expressed my desire to stay to both my representative and the club.”

Esteban Andrada remains focused on Monterrey

Despite South America’s interest, Andrada stated his intention to stay with the Liga MX side for the remaining year and a half of his contract.

“My focus is on Monterrey and achieving the goal,” Andrada added. “Obviously, starting in June, I will have one year left on my contract, and then, as the leadership was saying, I will be available for whatever they choose.”
