Former CF Monterrey striker Rogelio Funes Mori could return to the field on Matchday 10 when Pumas UNAM visit Rayados at Estadio BBVA.

The center forward continues to recover from a fractured two ribs arches. He underwent surgery, which has kept him away from the field since January 19, when he was injured in the defeat against Atlético de San Luis.

Nonetheless, ABC Deportes relays the information that “El Mellizo” is in the final phase of his recovery. As a result, it would allow him to return to the field in the coming matches.

The match against Rayados will be in two weeks, on Sunday, March 3. However, if he doesn’t play that game, then his return could occur on the 10th against Club Tijuana at the Estadio Olímpico Universitario.

His return to the ‘Steel Giant’ would occur almost three months after his departure from Rayados. It was a separation that did appear to have some sourness. He claimed to feel dissatisfied with the management’s treatment but happy with his decision to seek a new challenge in Mexican football.

Funes Mori arrived at Pumas as a reinforcement for the Clausura 2024 season after eight years with Monterrey. Still, physical issues have prevented him from contributing to the university team’s attack.
