CF Monterrey will be without Brandon Vazquez for their clash against Club Pachuca on Saturday night at Estadio BBVA.

Vazquez’s absence is because the Mexican-American striker received permission from Rayados to fly to Cincinnati and be present at the birth of his first child.

As a result, manager Fernando Ortiz is ready to change the starting lineup to account for his absence. Telediario reports that Germán Berterame will slide over to be the striker while Jesús Gallardo moves up to the left wing.

The 25-year-old has scored three goals in four games played in Liga MX, which is why he quickly caught the attention of many. It will be interesting if Vazquez will be available for Monterrey’s Concacaf Champions Cup on Thursday for the second leg against Comunicaciones FC.

Monterrey holds a 4-1 aggregate lead over the Guatemalan side, so he could play in that contest to get into the rhythm. However, Ortiz could decide not to risk him, considering the advantage Rayados has.

Rayados’ next league game after the Pachuca contest is a home matchup against Club Toluca.
