CF Monterrey’s 2024 Clausura season hasn’t ended, but that isn’t stopping the transfer rumors from surfacing. The latest report sees another Spanish player attempting to make a summer move to join Rayados.
Last summer, Monterrey brought in Sergio Canales from Real Betis and it’s been a move that’s working out so far this season. Nonetheless, could the Mexican side decide to bring another player with La Liga experience for the second summer in a row?
Fernando Esquivel from 365scores reports that Iker Muniain and his representatives have offered the 31-year-old to three Liga MX clubs: Club América, FC Juárez, and Monterrey.
So far, they have responded positively to the interest, even without any formal negotiations yet. Muniain will be leaving Athletic Bilbao as a free agent this summer when his contract expires in June.
Munian has made 557 appearances for the Spanish team while scoring 75 goals and recording 70 assists during his time while winning the 2024 Copa del Rey for the club that he’s only known for his entire career.
