Sevilla winger Jesús “Tecatito” Corona is on CF Monterrey’s radar, and a deal could be nearing. However, it seems negotiating tactics might be occurring through the media.

A recent report revealed that Rayados had an offer for Sevilla of $9 million ($10 million) inclusive of performance-based bonuses and other incentives. Corona’s agent spoke with AS México to comment on the transfer rumor.

“It may interest them, but we never began to negotiate anything,” Matías Bunge, representative of the 30-year-old, said.

With the Sept. 1 summer transfer deadline approaching, the Mexican club has a few days to wrap up this deal and have “Tecatito” return for a second stint.

Omar Govea ready for Rayados-Nashville Leagues Cup matchup

Monterrey pulled out a Hollywood-style 3-2 win over Los Angeles Football Club on Friday at the Rose Bowl. After falling 2-0, the Liga MX club scored three unanswered goals in the second half.

However, the win came at a cost, with Omar Govea fracturing his two metacarpals in his right hand. Still, the midfielder can continue participating in Leagues Cup thanks to a splint.

“The player will receive conservative treatment and his right hand will be protected with a splint so that he can continue participating in the international tournament,” the statement read (h/t TUDN).

“Omar, thank you for your courage and bravery to continue in the tournament!”

Monterrey will face Nashville on Tuesday in the semifinal matchup with the winner taking on either Inter Miami or Philadelphia Union.
