CF Monterrey is continuing to bolster the attack before the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1. The Mexican club will be bringing back a familiar face as they’re close to finalizing the return of Jesus “Tecatito” Corona.

El Sevillista’s Máximo de la Cruz Ramírez reports that the impending transfer, valued at a reported $9 million ($10 million) inclusive of performance-based bonuses and other incentives, is now in its final stages.

Both clubs are diligently working to conclude the operation. Furthermore, the information notes that the transfer that will see Corona return to Monterrey will be on a three-year contract.

Corona has been at Sevilla FC since 2022 and has made 26 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering four assists. Nonetheless, the best years for “Tecatito” in Europe came with FC Porto.

The Mexican winger made 287 appearances in all competitions for the Portuguese giants. Corona scored 31 goals and recorded 69 assists for Porto while winning Portugal’s top league on three occasions.

“Tecatito” would be Monterrey’s second summer signing behind Sergio Canales, who also came from Spain. Rayados’ attack will be formidable with two veterans that bring European experience.

With the summer transfer window still open, it will be interesting to see if Rayados make one or two moves to bolster the team.
