There are reports that CF Monterrey may be interested in Sevilla winger Jesús “Tecatito” Corona, despite his agent denying any contact. Nonetheless, any chances of Rayados landing the Mexican international might have taken a hit on Monday.

Sevilla has kept Tecatito Corona off the pitch to start the 2023–24 season. However, in their contest against Deportivo Alavés, the 30-year-old saw minutes for the Spanish club in their 4-3 loss.

Tecatito Corona played 15 minutes in the defeat. But many Monterrey supporters ask themselves whether this is a negative sign for a potential transfer.

Obviously, the logical thought is that Sevilla won’t risk a player getting hurt if he’s on the verge of being sold. Still, the Rojiblancos played Yassine Bounou in the UEFA Supercup match against Manchester City last week before he moved to Al-Hilal.

Some could argue that a goalkeeper doesn’t have a higher risk of getting hurt than a positional player. Regardless, Gonzalo Montiel played 12 minutes in that match and is reportedly on his way to Nottingham Forest.

If Rayados want to bring back their former player, they might have to do it before Sept. 1, when the transfer window closes for La Liga. Sevilla could look for a replacement and will likely need time to find one.

These next few days will be interesting to see if Monterrey gets another addition from Spain.
