On Monday, CF Monterrey’s women’s team lifted the trophy as champions for the 2024 Clausura season. However, Rayadas isn’t content with being champions, as rumors suggest that two new players are coming to reinforce the squad to win back-to-back league titles.
Both players will come to bolster the attack for the 2024 Apertura season and the first standout comes from European football. According to TUDN’s Diego Armando Medina, Manchester United forward Lucía García will be arriving from the English club to the Mexican side.
García has spent the last three years with the Red Devils in the Women’s Super League. The 25-year-old made 60 appearances while scoring 16 goals for Manchester United during her tenure with the club.
Medina also revealed on Tuesday that Monterrey will be bringing another forward, Katty Martínez. The 26-year-old arrives from Club América, where she scored 15 goals this Clausura season.
Martínez returns to the city of Monterrey, where she spent from 2017 to 2021 playing for crosstown rivals Tigres UANL. She left the northern Mexican club in 2022, playing for Club América the last three years.
