CF Monterrey’s women’s team played Tigres UANL Femenil to a scoreless draw on Friday at Estadio BBVA. However, Rayadas manager Amelia Valverde noted that she wasn’t satisfied with the result.
Both squads had their scoring chances to break the 0-0 deadlock, but neither attack found the back of the net. In her postgame remarks to the media, Valverde is happy with the performance but feels that the win was right there for her squad.
“I am not completely satisfied; that is the truth,” Valverde said postgame (h/t ABC Deportes). “I would like a different answer, but yes, I am very happy with the performance of the players during the week, and well, we have to continue, the 12th round continues; another equally important game is coming up, and we have to keep going.”
Valverde emphasized the importance of neutralizing Tigres Femenil’s offense and mentioned that her team was able to strengthen themselves. However, she reiterated that the white-and-blue team wanted the victory.
“At many moments, I believe we imposed ourselves, even managing to have some fairly lengthy conversations,” Valverde added. “I think there were specific moments in the game, with the ball, where we were able to cause some damage.”
