CF Monterrey’s Jorge ‘Corcho’ Rodriguez looks to become the staple midfielder for Rayados this 2024 Clausura tournament. The 28-year-old arrived this winter transfer window from Estudiantes de La Plata.
Rodríguez recently spoke with TUDN and noted his desire to be a leader on the squad. Nonetheless, it seems he wants the role to come naturally rather than pursuing that title on the team.
“What comes most naturally to me is being a bit of the commanding voice there, but to help the team,” Rodriguez said. “I always say that my role is to help the team.”
The midfielder also revealed his first few days since arriving in Monterrey to join the team. So far, it’s been a good experience as he transitions from Argentina to Mexico.
“All the people in the club are treating me very well, making me feel very comfortable, and that gives one confidence and comfort to adapt quickly,” Rodriguez added. “I think (there’s a lack of) more physical activity, getting myself in shape like the guys who went through a tough preseason; maybe I didn’t do that.”
