CF Monterrey wants goals for the 2024 Clausura tournament. One of the options to strengthen manager Fernando Ortiz’s team is Harold Preciado, the top scorer during the 2023 Apertura season.
Claro Sports reported on Friday that Rayados no longer counts on Rogelio Funes Mori, and they want to renew the offensive part of the team. As a result, Monterrey has its eyes on the Santos Laguna goal scorer.
Rayados would be willing to loan out Uruguayan Rodrigo Aguirre, who has already been offered to Club Pachuca. Another player Monterrey has put on the table to sign the Colombian goal scorer is Ecuadorian Joao Rojas, who is not in the team’s plans.
A positive point for Monterrey is that Duván Vergara is on loan with a purchase option with Santos. So, there’s a good relationship from a business perspective that would help in negotiations for Preciado.
Santos has received economic proposals for Preciado from different Mexican football teams. Still, so far, Monterrey’s would be the closest to achieving the negotiation. Rayados can offer a foreign player and a significant sum of income, which is reported to be $12 million.
